Dadstastic Day 2019

Leeds Dads is a voluntary organisation that brings together a diverse community of fathers for social interaction and support.We host playgroups for dads and kids, organise social events for dads and families, and provide information and signpost to expert parenting support.Leeds Dads is unique in our key aim of supporting fathers to actively engage with their children and build lasting relationships.

<H2 CLASS="MsoNormal">DADSTASTIC DAY - FREE family fun at Leeds City Museum</H2>
Come and join the biggest free Father’s Day party in England! 
<H2 CLASS="MsoNormal">Dadstastic Day is a day of FREE family fun organised by Leeds Dads. </H2>
It's a great opportunity for parents and carers to interact with their kids.
Babies, toddlers, and children aged up to 11 yrs old can enjoy: music, dance, science, storytelling, arts and crafts, and sport.
You can learn to dance with Phoenix Dance, upcycle vinyl and turn records into art, jump and dance at the BoomChikkaBoom Baby Rave, and meet your favourite fairytale story characters. There’s fun outdoors in Millennium Square with giant board games, pop up sports, disability sports, and Leeds Mobile Library, plus Mr Bubbles' giant bubbles - can you make a bubble float over Leeds Civic Hall? 
You can create crazy carnival headpieces, or get into a fight with Lego dad-bots! Learn to plait your your children's hair with White Rose Beauty College – Leeds, and have 'A Musical Day with Dad' at Raise and Shine Storytime's family singing session. The Gaming Manatee can show how to create your own board game to take home with you! Fancy making "Squishy Circuits" our of conductive play-dough, LED lights and buzzers with Cyclops Pedal Power?
You can also send and receive secret messages using a BBC Micro:bit to programme Morse code and there will also be Litcraft and Sphero tech to explore. (Micro:bits will be available to loan to anyone with a library card!)
At our last Dadstastic Day in 2017 over 1500 people attended. We rested last year, but now we are ready to go!
Our main partners are Child Friendly Leeds, Leeds City Museum, Leeds Inspired, LCCT and Breeze Leeds. 
The whole event is part of our aim to support dads to engage with their kids.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is no free parking at Leeds Museum.
Please consider using public transport or paid street meter parking close by.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes, please or a copy of your tickets on your smartphone or tablet - remember to charge up!

Please note, photographs will be taken at this event. These images will be used by Leeds Dads to share news about Dadstastic Day, our Leeds Dads Meetups, and to publicise our next Dadstastic Day. Images may be used in press releases, printed publicity and published on our website and social media platforms. They will be stored securely until the next Dadstastic Day, after which the photos will be deleted. If you would prefer for you or your child not to be photographed, please speak to a member of the Leeds Dads team on the day. If you would like to see your images, or would like us to delete them, please email us at leedsdads@gmail.com at any time.
