Here’s another Award-Winning Course from Explore the Great Outdoors, Winners of the Best Woodland Courses 2019.
On this one day course you will be guided through the whole process to create your own unique Dala Horse. The Dala Horse is a traditional symbol of Sweden.These horses were carved by men working in the forests during long winter evenings and brought back to the village for the children to play with.
This is how the little wooden horse from Dalarna became a treasured object.
These simple wooden horses were later painted in bright colours inspired by the flower patterns painted on furniture and walls in the region.
Why not try your hand at carving your own.
This workshop will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm at our Craft Studio near Marlborough. We will take a half an hour for lunch, which you can enjoy alongside the canal also you will have the opportunity to visit the craft shop.
What's included in the price.
Use of all tools and materials are provided and no previous experience is necessary, The kettle will be on throughout the day, we will provide a selection of tea and coffee for you to enjoy a cuppa and biscuits.
