Dance Masterclass with Oona Doherty - TDNI Masterclass Series

TheatreNI and Dance Resource Base have merged successfully to become a new, stronger support agency for theatre and dance in Northern Ireland called ‘Theatre and Dance NI’.

Theatre and Dance NI are so excited to be hosting a Masterclass with Oona Doherty! Oona is a Northern-Irish dance artist who studied at London School Of Contemporary Dance, University of Ulster and LABAN London (BA Honors and Post Graduate in Contemporary Dance Studies). Oona has been performing internationally since 2010 with companies such as TRASH (Netherlands), Abattoir Ferme (Belgium), Veronika Riz (Italy), Emma Martin/United Fall (Ireland), Enda Walsh and Landmark Productions (Ireland). Her work Hard to be Soft a Belfast prayer was voted top UK dance show of 2019 by the Guardian and in 2021 she was awarded the La Biennale Di Venezia’s Silver Lion for dance. The workshop will run as follows:10am - Warm Up Class11am - Learn Strings Improvisation 12pm - Sharing 1pm - Break2pm - Clown Acting Technique3pm - Strings Improvisation with Characterisation4pm - Q&amp;AThis masterclass will be held at The Crescent Arts Centre and is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who is undergoing or already has a high level of professional dance training. Tickets will be on a first come first served basis. Cost of tickets are as follows:Individual/Student Members: £30Funded Organisation Staff Members: £40Non TDNI Members: £50TDNI are committed to the Health &amp; Safety of our staff, members and the general public. If Covid-19 restrictions prohibit the in-person sessions within this series, the training will be rescheduled. Whilst the government guidelines have been eased, to protect everyones safety, and given the nature of some of our workshops, we will still require participants who are attending in person to provide:Proof of a negative Lateral Flow Test taken no more than 12 hours prior to the event. This result should then be sent to Molly at projects@theatreanddanceni.org. Please be aware participants may be asked to take a lateral flow test on arrival to the building if no prior information has been provided. If your lateral flow test is positive do not come along to this event and please report your test result <a href="https://www.gov.uk" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here.</a>Theatre and Dance NI will not be recording the lateral flow test results, they are just for use for your event.WHILST ATTENDING ACTIVITIES, REMEMBER SAFE DISTANCING. FOLLOW ALL DISPLAYED COVID 19 HEALTH AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS LAID OUT IN THE BUILDING. If you wish to buy tickets for two events that are both part of this series at the same time you will get a 10% discount.
