Overview

Is being worried about getting a puncture stopping you from getting out on your bike? If so, come along to our free, basic maintenance class

Is being worried about getting a puncture stopping you from getting out on your bike? If so, come along to the Roadside Repairs bike maintenance class in South Park Education Centre, hosted by the Sustrans Darlington Walking and Cycling Hub.

You will learn:

    • How to remove and reattach a wheel.
    • How to repair and replace an tire's innertube.
    • What equipment you should bring with you out on every bike ride.
    • Safety checking your bike.
    • Basic minor adjustments.
    • Recommended regular cleaning of your bike.
    • We can touch on anything else you may want to know about regarding maintenance.

These will be demonstrated, and then you will have the opportunity to try repairing and replacing an innertube yourself on a practice wheel.

We hope that, following the class, you will have gained more confidence to go out and enjoy the brilliant activity of cycling!

A free event, the class will run from 12-2pm. Please arrive on time as this is not a drop-in session.

The class will run in the front room in the church, between the two front doors.
