Darn it! - a workshop exploring decorative textile mending techniques .
Join our friendly stitch group as we explore different decorative mending techniques in Blackheath, London.
Our monthly stitch workshop looks at the different ways we can use stitch to mend and repurpose textiles. We will share skills, ideas and be guided through a few different ways to mend, repair and love the fragile textiles in our lives.
Making the art of mending accessible to everyone regardless of stitching experience is a great way for Blackheath Embroiderers to share skills and enthusiasm for all things stitch.
You may like to repair a moth-eaten garment, or a textile with happy memories attached, re-purpose an old fabric or simply enjoy the process of stitching for decorative pleasure.
Whatever your interest we hope to inspire your stitching journey!
Techniques covered include:
Traditional darning
Sashiko inspired stitching
Boro Mending
Kantha style stitching
