Data Analytics for Everyone: Statistical Data Analysis and Machine Learning

The Institute of Coding (IoC) is a partnership of over 30 universities in England all working hard to address the digital skills gap. This event is part of that work, and we want to know about the people attending so that we can find out whether what we are trying to achieve is having an impact.Your personal data will be collected and stored byUniversity of Sunderlandin accordance with theirdata policy.AsUniversity of Sunderlandare a member of the IoC, an element of your data will then be shared with us. All personal and identifying details will be removed before this data is shared so that all we get are statistics to show how we’re doing against our targets.The data we collect from you as part of this project will be passed to the Office for Students to allow them to conduct further research and evaluation of the activities funded as part of the IoC project, including combining with data from similar work at other Universities and Colleges. These data may be linked to other data that they hold about you including prior, current or future educational records and records on earnings and employment.

PLEASE NOTE!!! Once you have registered for the course, you will be sent a link to screen cast (videos) to watch in advance of the online sessions which take place on the 8th and 15th April 
This course will help you develop basic knowledge to perform statistical analysis and interpret your work to data informed decision making.
This session will cover understanding the fundamentals of statistics including:

<LI CLASS="what-you-get__item what-you-get__item--columns">Quantifying differences and associations between groups of data</LI>
<LI CLASS="what-you-get__item what-you-get__item--columns">Estimating confidence intervals</LI>
<LI CLASS="what-you-get__item what-you-get__item--columns">Hypothesis testing and p-values</LI>
<LI CLASS="what-you-get__item what-you-get__item--columns">An introduction to regression</LI>

DA-x (Data Analytics for Everyone) consists of a series of short courses and clinics, designed by the Institute of Coding (IoC) and University of Sunderland, to help upskill anyone in business who wants to get to grips with understanding and visualising data to inform decision making and drive greater efficiency or productivity within their business.
Courses are designed for anyone who works in areas such as administration, marketing, HR, finance or those in business who want to gain the practical skills that can help make better use of their data.
DA-x series consists of 3 free 1 day courses:

Each course is supported by 'data clinics' designed to help contextualise and embed newly learnt skills in the workplace.
