Born out of the research labs of TU Delft with over 20 years of experience in the synthesis of aerosols, VSPARTICLE believes there is a whole new world of possibilities at the nanoscale.As we all start to understand these possibilities, it will enable research and industry to rethink production processes and develop new materials to create innovative applications. At VSPARTICLE we support this process by making nanoparticle-based manufacturing as easy as pushing a button and providing research and industry with the tools to rapidly advance the field of nanotechnology.

Entry-level workshop on data sharing best practices in material science

This workshop is organised as a collaboration between <a href="https://materialpioneers.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Material Pioneers</a>,<a href="https://osc-delft.github.io/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Open Science Community Delft</a> and <a href="https://data.4tu.nl/info/en/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">4TU.ResearchData</a> .This is a crash course on research data management. By the end of this hands-on session, you will know why research data management is important, what kind of data is most useful to be shared, how to store and share data and where to do it.InstructorPedro Mendes - Assistant Professor at Tecnico Lisboa - is passionate about catalysts. His research mainly aims at (i) understanding how catalysts work via mathematical models (catalysis informatics) and (ii) design sustainable processes by combining knowledge of all scales (multi-scale modelling). The models he workswith can thus range from pure reaction kinetics to coupling with reactor and/or process models, with tailored levels of complexity.Being an experimentalist by training, he also dives into catalyst synthesis, characterization and testing. He enjoys collaborative work with other scientists, e.g. YEuCat and takes part in initiatives aiming at transforming academia, e.g. Open Science and DORA actions, amongst others.Who: The workshop is aimed at Early Career Reseachers (PhD candidates, postdocs and assistant professors/research associates) doing research in material science.Prerequisites:None. Where possible, participants should bring a dataset that they have been working with to the workshop to maximise benefit from the hands-on experience. Where: This training will take place online.
