Through practical demonstrations and interactive sessions, participants will gain first-hand experience with FIWARE technologies and their unique value proposition:

Go beyond data sharing by offering sophisticated products that combine data, APIs, digital services, and complete web applications.

Bring users (natural persons, devices, robots, AI agents) as first-citizens in data spaces so they gain direct access to provider products —without requiring connector deployment on the consumer side.

Leverage full OID4VC interoperability through native support for OID4VP, compatibility with the EU Digital Identity Wallet, and integration with Keycloak VCI.

Enforce usage policies at scale through a mature, open-source, cloud-native framework built on APISIX and OPA for robust ODRL policy enforcement.

Ensure Gaia-X compliance with support for the Gaia-X ODRL profile, Verifiable Credentials, and EBSI Trusted Issuer Registries.

Achieve cross-platform interoperability through compatibility with Eclipse DSP, supporting both OID4VC and DCP-based authentication mechanisms.

Connect effortlessly to leading marketplaces with compatibility with TM Forum-compliant ecosystems, including DOME.

Unlock new business models through built-in support for service monetization and value-added offerings.

All training sessions will be conducted in English. 🇬🇧 Day 1 - Foundations and IAM (Identity and Access Management) ArchitectureThe first day will focus on the fundamental concepts and technical components required to understand and operate within Data Spaces ecosystems. Topics include:→ Introduction and key concepts • Products, services, resources • Verifiable Credentials for managing the identity of organizations and users • What it means to acquire the rights to use products • What needs to be standardized to achieve interoperability in data spaces • Main architecture elements of a data space→ Identity Management and Authentication in depth→ ODRL overview and Authorization concepts in depth→ The FIWARE Data Space Connector (FIWARE DSC) • Overview of architecture and components • Deployment of the FIWARE DSC→ Practical exercise / challenge • Example: deploying a FIWARE DSC to manage access to an NGSI-LD or REST API endpoint Day 2 – Products, Offerings and Contract ManagementThe second day will focus on product management within Data Spaces, the use of TM Forum Open APIs, including how existing web-based applications can be exposed as products. Topics include:→ Introduction to TM Forum APIs→ TM Forum Catalog functions • Product Specifications • Product Offerings • Contract Negotiation→ Demonstration of the FIWARE DSC Marketplace Portal→ How to specify products • How to define product offerings • How to acquire access to products through the marketplace portal→ Tutorial on the use of TM Forum Open APIs • Specifying products via APIs • Defining offerings via APIs • Acquiring access to products programmatically→ Exercise / challenge • Extending or modifying an existing ODRL policy→ Learning how a standard web application using OIDC authentication can be offered in the data space→ Evolution of authentication mechanisms from OIDC towards Verifiable Credentials (VCs) • Publication in the marketplace→ Practical exercise / challenge • Example: exposing an application comprising a web GUI and REST endpoint through the FIWARE DSC Day 3 – Data Space Global Services, Compatibility with EDC, CKANThe third day will focus on federation services within Data Spaces and compatibility with EDC or CKAN. Topics include:→ Understanding the Global Registry and Onboarding Portal • Federation concepts • Registration and onboarding processes • Discovery and trust establishment mechanisms→ Delegating catalog and contract management functions • Using a global marketplace together with the FIWARE DSC • Operating the FIWARE DSC without deploying TM Forum / BAE components • Integration approaches for distributed marketplace scenarios→ Compatibility with Eclipse Dataspace Connector (EDC) • Interoperability concepts between FIWARE DSC and EDC • Example of B2B data exchange using EDC→ Global Verifiable Credential (VC) Issuer • Role of trusted issuers in Data Spaces • Credential issuance and verification concepts • Trust establishment across organizations and ecosystems→ Integration with CKAN and DCAT • Exporting TM Forum catalog as DCAT • Access control in CKAN SAVE THE DATES🗓️ When: June 30, July 1 and July 3📍 Where: Online⏰ Time: 09:00-12:00 (CEST)
