The Green Minds programme partners collectively gather and work with lots of different types of data that relates to our green spaces, such as detailed records of wildlife sightings, weather and climate data, footfall data, air and water quality, traffic, trees, asset maintenance, and much more. If this data is to have the maximum impact we need to find ways to present it that have the maximum impact - so it tells the story of the pressures our green spaces are under and what we have to do to help them, and how we can live well alongside nature in the city.We’re already working on ways to collect the data together and a previous meeting of the Plymouth Rewilding network considered how to map the network of human projects already working to help green spaces in the city.Alongside that, though, we want to collect examples of ways that we can tell stories with the data for maximum impact. Maps are part of this (as they are powerful ways to show data in localities) but they aren’t the only way to show how things are changing or responding to interventions. Above all, though, visualisations have to be accessible to the right people and available to them at the point that they need them: this workshop aims to explore the kinds of visualisation that we might want to enable so that we can provide the necessary support in the technical tools we are building, and in the future events that we run, and in future training and workshops we might support.Spaces are limited so sign up if you can make it!
