Overview

A practical one-day workshop for primary and MAT senior leaders on assessment and data, focusing on clarity, inclusion and impact.

Schools collect a huge amount of data, but how confident are you that it is genuinely supporting pupils and informing practice? With the new Ofsted toolkit and revised IDSR placing a stronger emphasis on inclusion, particularly for disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND, this workshop provides space to step back and ensure your approach to assessment is purposeful, proportionate and fit for purpose.

This practical one-day workshop helps senior leaders cut through the noise around data and assessment, focusing on systems that support teachers, strengthen provision and improve outcomes, rather than adding to workload for little gain.

The day will help you to:

• Review and refine your approach to assessment and data
• Understand what data matters, what does not, and what is statutory
• Use data effectively to support all pupils, including those with SEND
• Develop or sharpen an assessment policy and data strategy that works in practice

If you are looking to bring greater clarity and confidence to assessment and data in your school or trust, this day offers practical support and time to reflect.

This workshop is split into two broad themes: a morning on external data and accountability, and an afternoon on internal assessment practices and tracking pupil progress. The day comprises four sessions as follows:

Session 1: State of the nation: the new Ofsted toolkit and DfE performance measures

Session 2: Navigating the new IDSR: understanding all the latest changes to this important document

Session 3: Effective use of school assessment data: Practical solutions for recording and analysing your assessment data to make best use of your tracking system, focusing on teacher assessment, test scores, progress measures, and best practice for monitoring the achievement of pupils with SEND

Session 4: Developing an assessment policy and data strategy: how to ‘dataproof’ your school

Tickets include a light lunch and refreshments.
