<a href="https://datajam.info/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">DataJam North East </a>creates opportunities for people passionate about the North East to come together to use their data and the community's skills to improve services for the people in our region, with a focus on the major economic, social and environmental challenges we face.<h2>#4 Inclusivity Event</h2>We invite you to join us, alongside our collaborators – <a href="https://www.ncl.ac.uk/nicd/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">National Innovation Centre for Data</a> and the <a href="https://www.theorsociety.com/get-involved/society-groups/regional-societies/north-east/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Analyst Network North-East </a>- for the fourth event in this series which will explore the improved use of data to address inclusivity issues.The use of digital technologies and the exploitation of data are clearly generating wealth but is there a danger of society leaving behind those without the ability to access the technology?Covid has accelerated the take-up of digital technology allowing those with the digital know-how to operate effectively from home but for those without the skills has it increased their isolation and degraded their opportunities? How can we, as the data community, help policy makers better understand and react to these challenges?

<h2>The Datajam Event Series</h2>The current global pandemic has accentuated the need to increase and improve data sharing and data literacy across the public and private sectors and demonstrated the value in collaboration and community – something our region does very well. Although we are not able to hold a physical Datajam conference at the new <a href="https://www.thecatalystnewcastle.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Catalyst Building </a>on the Newcastle Helix Site, Datajam North East are holding a series of virtual events to explore the use of data in a Covid and post-Covid world. This events series will explore the potential of data across five key themes: Health, Environment, Inclusivity, Mobility and Smart living.The online webinars explore:•	how individuals and organisations are responding to COVID•	how we can prepare for a post-COVID world•	building structures to enable better sharing of data between public and private sector organisationsWe will work with attendees to identify projects with real-world impact that can be developed further through broader community engagement at the next Datajam conference. Our first three online events, exploring<a href="https://youtu.be/njGx0iwkcow" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Health</a>, <a href="https://youtu.be/4vaHHG67bYY" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Environment</a> and <a href="https://youtu.be/NsNeQK1VBq8" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Mobility</a> data respectively, started conversations which are still producing outcomes as people from our community come together in focused groups to delve deeper into the topics and problems that were raised at the event.

<h2>Registration</h2>To register and secure your free place at our Inclusivity event, click on the ‘Register' button above and follow the instructions.There are a number of options for attending the event:<ol><li>Participant </li><li>Presenter - 10 minute speed talk </li><li>Panellist - Suggest a topic, provide an introduction and lead a discussion</li><li>Presenter and Panellist</li></ol>Talks and topics for discussion should address the theme of Inclusivity data <h3>Speed Talks</h3>Talks will last up to 10 minutes followed by time for questions. If you would like to give a talk, please select ticket type option 2 and provide a talk title and short abstract on the registration form.<h3>Panel</h3>If you would like to be one of our panellists, please select ticket type option 3 and submit the title of the topic you will introduce and lead on.If you would like, please also complete the summary field with the key points of your introductory remarks and we will share this content with the other panellists.To provide a speed talk and participate as a panellist, please select ticket type option 4, provide your talk and topic titles and abstracts and if you would like, share details for the other panellists.The number of talks and topics will be limited owing to time, unfortunately we may not be able to feature all offered talks or topics at this event but we will be hosting further events with opportunities to present talks and discussions on two other themes: inclusivity and smart living.
