Dawn Chorus Walk

The Blackdown Hills National Landscape partnership works to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the this protected landscape. We provide information about the local history and natural environment, involve people and organisations in looking after the landscape, and encourage people to visit and enjoy the area.The Blackdown Hills National Landscape (the new name for the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) is a tranquil and relatively isolated landscape, on the border of Devon and Somerset. The area is rich in wildlife and heritage. For many, it epitomises the English countryside, with hedgerows and copses, small farms with intricate field patterns, deep valleys and narrow, winding lanes.

<P>Get up with the larks for a leisurely walk to enjoy the dawn chorus in the Blackdown Hills AONB. We will be listening and looking out for a variety of birds as they awaken and provide us with a medley of songs and calls. The group will be led by experts from the Somerset Ornithological Society. All ages welcome, the walk route is approx 1 mile long and includes steps, slopes and uneven terrain.</P>
