DBS Barring Referral Training

Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC)is the County Voluntary Council (CVC) for Cardiff – the umbrella infrastructure organisation for the third sector in the City.C3SC’s key role is to provide specialist advice, support, and information to local third sector organisations on issues that affect them, including funding and governance.C3SC is the voice of the third sector in Cardiff. It facilitates third sector representation on strategic partnerships, including the Cardiff Partnership Board and its Programme Boards and Workstreams. C3SC with t the Disclosure and   Barring Service  orgnaising  this online  training session  on DBS  Barring Referral

Caro from the Disclosure and Barring Service will be delivering this online training session.The overall outcome of the session is to have a greater understanding of DBS, its products and how DBS can work with organisations at all levels to promote and encourage safer recruitment and safeguarding in its widest context. Date: Thursday 24th June 2021Time: 1:00pm – 3:00pm The learning outcomes from this sessions are:-•	Understand the benefits of DBS and you (employer) working together
•	Understand the three different referral routes
•	Understand when a DBS Barring referral should be made, including when the legal duty is met 
•	Understand Regulated Activity / Relevant Conduct and Harm Test 
•	Understand how to make a good quality referral 
•	Have a clear understanding of the consequences of not making appropriate barring referrals and the consequences of being included in one or both Barred Lists
•	Myth Busting Quiz
