DBS Information Session
Overview
This information session will cover the following:
- The different levels of DBS checks
- Regulated activity
- DBS update service
- Filtering rules
- Barring and duty to refer
- Q&A
Kiran will also be available to follow up with individual organisations about any organisation-specific questions.
Who should attend:
Anyone who recruits and manages volunteers where services are being delivered to vulnerable adults and/or children and young people. Safeguarding is everybody's business and this course is applicable to any organisation delivering services for the community.
Facilitator: Kiran Rehal
Kiran Rehal has been the DBS Regional Outreach Adviser for Greater London since 2020 and is a point of contact for any enquiries about DBS. She will be delivering a session to explain the purpose of the DBS, the services and products it provides and the part it plays in safer recruitment. This information will be beneficial for all volunteer-involving organisations involved in the recruitment process for volunteers and staff working with children and vulnerable adults.
Cost:
There is no charge for this course for voluntary and community sector groups operating in Richmond upon Thames or Wandsworth or those providing local services.
