Exhibition and book launch for 'Dear Dolly' by Alice Hawkins

HAVE A BUTCHERS proudly presents ‘Dear Dolly’, an exhibition by British artist-photographer Alice Hawkins. The show coincides with the launch of Hawkins’ second book ‘Dear Dolly’, published by Baron Books.In ‘Dear Dolly’, Hawkins presents photographic hyper-real self-portraits appropriating the imagery and guises employed by country western sensation and American dream, Dolly Parton.As Hawkins states ‘I have always embraced my fantasies through my photography. Sought the unfashionable, audacious, gaudy and glamorous, and used my work as a guise, to experiment with my own identity because I have dreams of being as brave and ostentatious myself.’Featuring a selection of fine-art prints, archival material, and exclusive memorabilia. Alice will be available for book signing on the night. Prints and books can be purchased both in the gallery and online.
