Mining is crucial to decarbonisation, but it’s also an industry that is hard to decarbonise and has been operating the same way for hundreds of years.With many companies announcing 2030 and 2050 decarbonisation goals, strategies for short-term, medium-term, and long-term emission reductions are ever-changing. The changing landscape of available vs. emerging technologies, in addition to the nuanced operations of each mining company (Ex. location, type of operations - open pit vs underground, commodity), will majorly impact the way in which mining companies can reach their net-zero targets.In this panel discussion, we are exploring how mining companies are planning to reach interim and net zero decarbonisation plans, and how technology developers are meeting this demand.This event will be hosted at Anglo American (17 Charterhouse Street, London, EC1N 6RA). A networking drinks reception will follow the Panel session.Please bring Photo ID. You will not be able to attend the event without this.
