Founded in 1949 by Harry Blech,the London Mozart Players is the UK's longest established chamber orchestra. Known for its unmistakable British roots, the orchestra has developed an outstanding reputation for adventurous, ambitious programming, from Baroque through to genre-crossing contemporary music.The ensemble has enjoyed a long history of association with many of the world's finest musical personalities including Igor Stravinsky, Sir James Galway, Dame Felicity Lott, Jane Glover, Julian Lloyd Webber, Stephen Hough, Nicola Benedetti, John Suchet and Simon Callow.The London Mozart Players are the only professional orchestra in the UK to bemanaged both operationally and artistically by the players, and has enjoyed the patronage of HRH The Earl of Wessex since 1988.

Christmas starts here!
Join the London Mozart Players and special guests The Croydon Citadel Band of the Salvation Army, the choirs and orchestras from Rockmount and Cypress Primary Schools and The Crisis Skylight Croydon Singers for a festive concert of seasonal music with carols for all and mulled wine and mince pies! 
This Christmas concert is full of local talent! The concert will see our project with Crisis in Croydon come to fruition: with their help, songwriter Michael Omer worked with homeless people to write a song called ‘Things Are Getting Better’ which will be performed by the school choirs alongside The Skylight Singers (a choir formed of those helped by Crisis) and local poet Shaniqua Benjamin will perform the spoken word element of the piece.
In addition, the two winners of our Musical Stars competition for young Croydon singers will also perform; and finally, a young cornet player from Croydon School, Thomas Nielsen, the winner of BBC Radio 2’s Young Brass Award 2018, will also be playing a solo accompanied by LMP. What a line up!
The warm and welcoming church of St John the Evangelist in Upper Norwood plays host to this wonderful concert for all the family, so grab your Christmas jumpers and Santa hats and come along!
Programme includes: In the Bleak Midwinter, Jingle Bell Rock, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Sleigh Ride, Brahms' Hungarian Dance, Schumann's Träumerei and many more.
