The Decoding Ceramics Symposium in partnership with the British Ceramics BiennaleThe CRAFT research partnership invites you to join the launch of a unique Ceramics knowledge platform designed to sustain the cultural heritage of ceramics around the world.Wednesday 11 October 2023, 9:30 - 16:00 Potteries Museum, Stoke on TrentEvening reception at the British Ceramics Biennale F﻿ull programme is linked <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gQWAinZqGLH0UUwFSj4niAuVakZIUPNY/view?usp=sharing" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</a>CRAFT is a 3-year European Union, Erasmus funded project, bringing together five great educational institutions; UAL: CSM London, NOVA Lisbon, UMPRUM Prague, KHiO Oslo and KHB Berlin. CRAFT has begun the gigantic task of mapping Ceramic practice knowledge across Europe developing methods to share knowledge between teaching, expert and practitioner networks, ensuring heritage crafts skill are sustained in the 21st Century.The symposium includes:•	Keynote address from <a href="https://www.jarehdas.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dr Jareh Das</a> •	introductions to the research project and the open access platform. •	presentations from influential makers will celebrate thier passion for ceramic knowledge and skill including: <a href="https://ceramiccitystories.info" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Danny Callaghan </a><a href="https://www.coppersounds.co.uk" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Copper Sounds </a><a href="https://carriereichardt.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Carrie Reichardt</a> <a href="https://vicarte.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Marcia Gomes Vilarigues &amp; Susana Coentro</a> •	a provocative panel discussing contemporary ceramics in practice and how to sustain knowledge and expertise for the future.•	Evening Networking Drinks in the British Ceramics Biennale exhibition. We invite you to join the <a href="https://craft.di.fct.unl.pt/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">DECODING CERAMICS</a> network linking your practice and location to the our Ceramic knowledge map. We have worked hard to make this event completely free! To keep costs down there will be no lunch provided, however there are many places to eat close by.
