Innovation Forum Manchester focuses its activities on the most dynamic academic an economic region in the country outside the Golden Triangle. Our aim is to promote inter-generational knowledge and leadership exchange in the North West.Manchester is currently home to some of the biggest universities in the UK. The Oxford Corridor is a unique business location, at the heart of Manchester’s knowledge economy, covering some 243 hectares with a 55,000 strong workforce. The rise of the digital era over the last half century has coincided with incredible breakthroughs in the field of genomic research. As we enter the 2020s, the convergence of these two worlds is coming to the fore, with increased computing power and storage capabilities, and impressive advancements in sequencing technologies facilitating the generation of exabytes of complex genomic data. Access to this amount of genomic information, along with world-wide adoption of AI-based technologies, is predicted to facilitate vast improvements in disease management, drug discovery, and precision medicine. 

In this event, The Innovation Forum Manchester will provide a platform to openly explore and discuss both the vast potential the field of genomics holds in improving human health, and the logistical, ethical and conceptional challenges the field faces. We will be talking with industry leaders and world-renowned academics to gain insights into this exciting area of science, and to delve into the behind-the-scenes collaborative work being done between biologists, clinicians, bioinformaticians, policy makers, and pharmaceutical companies to overcome these challenges. 
This event will be available both in-person and virtually. Anyone registering to the event will be asked which option they prefer.

Attendees joining the session virtually will only have access to the speakers and the panel sessions of the event, but not the networking session.
