The workshop will explore the importance of user needs in creative meaningful startup solutions. Our panel of speakers from Bazaarvoice, Kainos and The User Story will help you deeply understand the problem you're solving from the lens of your future customers. We'll introduce the concept of design thinking in creating solutions with a practical design thinking sprint. The workshop is perfect for early stage ideation or refinement of existing solutions, helping you experiment meaningfully and iterate quickly. The workshop will comprise of two parts, firstly a discussion on the importance of design amongst our speakers followed by a design thinking sprint led. Come with your questions to make the session valuable for you!A﻿bout our speakers: Emma Millar - BazaarvoiceEmma is a product and interaction designer and Hyper Island Alumni (DXD) and will lead the design thinking sprint. She’s all about creating experiences for users that not only put them first, but make a meaningful impact in their lives. She loves creating solutions that are accessible, intuitive and easy to use. Bronagh Smyth - Kainos Bronagh is a User Research Consultant at Kainos and has worked in research for over 10years. With experience leading research projects for UK government, as well as within FMCG, advertising and startup industries, she is keen to ensure that products and services are designed to truly meet customer and user needs. Bronagh took a year out from Kainos to spend time expanding her experience in venture design, within the startup community, and is now back, focusing on generating insights and validation of ideas through research and experimentation. Katie Fisher - The User Story With a background in psychology, Katie has always loved researching things and people which brought her into UX research and UX strategy. Over the past 5 years, she’s helped startups and digital product teams make better product decisions, build the right thing (not just everything) and make sure that people are at the forefront of how products get built. Imwe Eke - New Party Rules Lab Imwen Eke is an Experience designer, Social game practitioner, Creative Technician and TEDx Speaker who creates spaces for Adults to play. She has over fourteen years experience in immersive theatre production and multidisciplinary arts industry management. Imwen creates work through her indie games company New Party Rules Labs. She is also a tutor at the University of the Underground, a Lecturer at ISCOM, Paris, co-founder of the Livesey Exchange and co-founder of Black Excellence Global Network, a global movement rooted in creating economic, ethical, and social advancements to change narratives globally.Kris Jones - Magic Sauce Kris has been involved with accelerating tech startups for many years, with the companies he’s helped going on to raise circa £35m to date. He’s a self confessed product and startup geek and has plenty of user experience and design insight to share. Kris is currently launching an online startup accelerator, Magic Sauce. About RaiseRaise Ventures are a commercial startup accelerator supporting early-stage Northern Irish, Irish and UK tech companies. Created for founders, by founders, we pride ourselves on being a leader in the startup space within Northern Ireland and a companion on the journey of entrepreneurship.We nurture high potential, disruptive and scalable ideas to create investable enterprises through our Accelerator programme, community and open pitch events.
