Dementia Friendly Growing Session

Working in partnership with Richmond Council, Barnes Common Limited (BCL) a local independent charity oversees the stewardship of Barnes Common, the Leg o' Mutton Local Nature Reserve and Vine Road Recreation Ground (affectionately known as Vine Road Park).Conservation has always been at the heart of all that we do and continues to be today. Whether we are preserving precious woodlands, creating important wildlife habitats, sowing seeds in our Community Growing area, introducing the community to the bats at Leg o' Mutton or engaging the community in our Lifelong Learning program, the Vine Road Project and Flood Resilience.

Barnes Common

Join us at our open growing session. We'll be making lavender bags, and trying some different herbal teas from plants grown in our garden.

Growing Workshops

You are invited to join our free monthly workshops to learn more about growing food in harmony with nature. The sessions will introduce you to seasonal topics such as seed sowing, looking after seedlings, and seed saving.

This workshop will take place in the polytunnel in our growing area at Vine Road Rec.

Please note, dogs will not be admitted at this event except guide dogs. All our events are dog free unless specifically mentioned in the event listing.We will be taking photos and/or recording video at this event. These photos and videos will likely to be used on our website, social media platforms as well as marketing materials and press releases. Please contact us directly (by emailing or in person at the event) if you do not wish to be in the photographs/videos.This is a non smoking event. Smoking and vaping is not allowed at this event.
