Welcome to the LSE PhD Academy Eventbrite page.  We host a varied menu of events for LSE doctoral students which range from advanced methodology training and interdisciplinary workshops to professional development events and writing groups.Our programme changes throughout the year but advance details of what is on offer can always be found on the Event and Courses section of thePhD Academy webpages.  This has the complete list of our events, some will require you to use different booking systems for different events.  We are currently in the process of reviewing our booking systems and hope to make it more streamline in the future.The PhD Academy is based on the 4th floor of the Lionel Robbins building where we have a teaching room, common room and office space.  We look forward to meeting you and welcome your feedback, either in person or you can contact us by email at phdacademy@lse.ac.uk or by telephone on 020 7955 6607.

The LSE and South Coast ESRC Doctoral Training Partnerships, in collaboration with the British Society of Population Studies, are hosting a jointly-organised masterclass entitled:“Being an academic in Demography: a masterclass for PhD students on data challenges and peer review”The scheduled speakers are :•	Ernestina Coast (LSE) - The household: conceptual and methodological reflections•	Vicky Hosegood (Southampton) – Operationalising household definitions•	Berkay Ozcan (LSE) - Family Form as Cultural Assimilation: Variations of Extended Household by Ethnicity and Immigration Generational Status•	Peter Smith (Southampton) - The challenges when analysing longitudinal data•	Rebecca Sear (LSHTM) and Wendy Sigle (LSE) – Good practice in peer review
