About this event

  • Event lasts 6 hours

Demystifying Death Week runs from Monday 5th May to Friday 9th May. Organisations plan events across Scotland in a collaborative approach to give people knowledge, skills and opportunities to plan and support each other through death, dying, loss and care.

People usually want to do the right thing when someone they know is affected by serious illness, death or grief. But often they can feel awkward offering help, or worry about making things worse.

People can have questions about serious illness or dying. But often they don’t know who to ask.

Making plans when you’re healthy means there is less to think about when you’re ill. But people can put off making plans until it is too late.

Come along to one or all of our talks covering various topics.

We will also have several organisations who will be there to speak to directly, including Friends of the Oaks, The local Parkinson's Group and Citizen's Advice Bureau.

We will also have an exhibition called It Takes A Village, on display, loaned from Good Life Good Death Good Grief. This is an interesting take on all the many people involved in supporting people with life limiting illness in the community.

Come along and find out more......Let us know if you are inteerested in one or all of our events by reserving a place so that we can plan better for refreshments. Of course you can also just pop along on the day.
