Design for Project-based Learning (PBL)
In the launch event for this term's theme, we ask what is PBL, and what do teachers need and architects can design to facilitate it.
In the first part of the event we consider what PBL is, what architecture does it need, and what examples are there of existing designs.
In the second part we will hear from our guest speaker Zek Hoeben. Previously, Zek was part of the founding team at School 21, where he led the Art, Design & Technology department and helped pioneer project-based learning, oracy and coaching approaches.
Now Co-Founder of shiftED, he designs hands-on opportunities for children and young people to develop design and making skills at the shiftED Makerspace in Holborn Library’s Clore Learning Centre. With over 20 years’ experience in art, design, and technology education, Zek helps young people bridge classroom learning with real-world projects, developing creativity, critical thinking, confidence, and skills for the future.
