Michele is committed to addressing inequality believing that it is the root cause of many other fundamental problems that occur in the world.Addressing this has been her main driving force as a Community Practitioner. She places community involvement, participation and enabling as central to her work believing it to be one of many fundamental tools needed to address inequality and achieve a better more balanced world, that is reflective of the needs of all its inhabitants.Locally past programs and projects that she has established have been in areas like Adult education, Crime diversion, Regeneration, Mentoring, Young People, Women’s Services and Well-being Projects, but has also been involved and contributed to National Agendas like youth participation (Targeted Youth Support Pathfinder Pilot Lead for Derby) and Community Cohesion (Dialogue Facilitator – Initiatives of Change).Born In Nottingham where she still resides (she loves her city), She has been Secretary of a local Charity for 2 years and is currently setting up an IT City wide project, based in Sneinton Called Traction that will support people back to into work, education or self employment through 1-2-1 support and training workshops.Michele has been involved in Community Organising since 2016 and is currently the Community Organiser Nottingham’s operational Social Action Hub Lead & Co Facilitator, (Hosted by Sneinton CIC). In addition she is a Lead Associate Trainer for Community Organiser UK Ltd, a role which takes her across the country delivering Community Organiser training to Young People and Adults as well as passionately supporting at grass root level and above, communities to build a power base and effect change.---------------------David is passionate about helping to rebuild communities and setting down roots (having lived a 'nomadic' life during childhood in India).  He has been volunteering and working in the community sector in Sneinton, Nottingham since 2006, and is personally passionate about community cafes and lunch clubs (he set upNottingham Community Cafe Network),community festivals, setting up youth provision, and recently setting up and running a local football club, Sneinton Town FC.Since 2012 David has been a Community Organiser with the Locality, and nowCommuity Organisersprograms, working locally in Sneinton, hosted bySneinton Alchemy CIC.  He has been been the East Midlands Members Organiser for the last two years and is an associate trainer forCommuity Organisers

[The Design Quality Framework Launch Event scheduled for 25th April is now fully booked.
Due to popularity, the event will be repeated with the same format on the 20th May 2019 at Loxley House instead of 38 Carrington St.]
Nottingham City Council is launching the Design Quality Framework, a series of guides for communities, industries and authorities to raise design quality across the city and to embrace the Placemaking ethos, an approach that allows everyone to become involved in planning and designing their city.
 
This workshop provides an opportunity to gain more practical knowledge and skills regarding the key design quality parameters that are crucial to Nottingham and the City’s overall design quality expectations, and to learn how you can become involved in shaping your city.
 
Through a workshop, you will have an opportunity to test-drive the design guide applying it to appraise a real life planning application. After the workshop you will also have an opportunity to give us feedback on the practicalities of using the guide.
 
The event is free of charge, although places are limited.
