Design System 'Hack' Day
Join us online and in GDS's London office for a hack day, working on building a 'shop window' for other governmental design systems.
For our final Design System Day event of the year, we’ll be running a hackathon on Thursday 28 November 2024 looking at improving the journey between the GOV.UK Design System and other government design systems.
This will be a hybrid event:
- in-person: Government Digital Service’s office in Whitechapel, London (50 places)
- online: Zoom meetings (200 places)
The hackathon will be hands-on with participants encouraged to work with others to ideate, investigate and prototype. We’re also hoping to have some lightning talks from colleagues in other government departments.
Rough plan for the day
- Intro and lightning talks
- Gather user needs
- Pitch for time and ideate in groups
- Lunch
- Further ideation
- Feedback from GDS designers and further ideation
- Show and tell
Session type: Hybrid hackathon: Lightning talks, workshopping and prototyping
Duration: 10am-5pm
Platform: Zoom (please make sure your device can access Zoom meetings)
We will be using Zoom Meetings for video, and Padlet for notes and comments. Please make sure you have a device that can access these, as some organisation’s firewalls block these platforms.
Ticketing
Please be responsible when reserving tickets. Do not order multiple tickets. If you can no longer attend, cancel your ticket so someone else can take your spot. There is huge demand for our events and we’re keen that as many people as possible can take part
We hope you can join us!
