Join us for an insightful one-hour RIBA accredited CPD exploring the emerging discipline of architectural acoustics

Join us for an insightful one-hour RIBA accredited CPD exploring the emerging discipline of architectural acoustics and how audio can be designed as an integral part of the built environment.

This session will be delivered by Chris Southern, who will share his expertise and practical experience in integrating architectural audio within commercial and high-end residential projects.

“Designed to Disappear” introduces a design led approach to integrating architectural audio, encouraging architects and contractors to consider sound in the same way as lighting , as a fundamental component of the overall scheme rather than an afterthought.

This session will cover:
• How acoustics influence the luxury residential and commercial experience
• The principles behind discreetly integrating technology within architecture
• How flush fitting, minimal visual impact audio solutions enhance aesthetics without compromising performance
• Practical guidance on coordinating lighting and audio as part of a holistic design strategy

Sound plays a significant role in user experience, wellbeing and perceived quality, yet it is rarely addressed in formal architectural training. This CPD provides practical knowledge that can be applied immediately across commercial and high-end residential projects.

The session is supported by Sonance, pioneers of architectural audio, whose work features in flagship locations including Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Gleneagles and St Andrews.

If you are involved in designing, specifying or delivering commercial or residential spaces, this session will provide valuable insight into enhancing projects through considered acoustic design.
