Join our unique peer-powered network to support people from underrepresented backgrounds to access creative opportunities.

DesignHer is a unique peer-powered network to support people from underrepresented backgrounds to access opportunities within the creative industries. The network was founded by Buttercrumble, a female-led design studio, who are reimagining traditional business networks by placing belonging and lived experience at its core.

The network welcomes West Yorkshire women (inclusive of trans and non-binary people) who face barriers due to class, race, disability, gender identity or caring responsibilities, to join a series of get-togethers. The sessions combine guest mentoring and peer-to-peer exchange. Plus – between events – members can access an online hub of resources to stay connected and inspired.

DesignHer is currently touring West Yorkshire with events hosted in accessible and welcoming spaces across the region.

The venue

Located at Marmalade on the Square in Wakefield. It's a cosy space, designed to boost your inspiration and make you feel at home!

Getting here

Marmalade on the Square is located in the heart of Wakefield at 21 Bull Ring. For those travelling by public transport, the venue is a short, five-minute walk from Wakefield Westgate railway station and is easily accessible from the local bus station. If you are driving, there are several nearby car parks, including the Trinity Walk shopping centre and various on-street parking options within the city centre.
