Event description

Description

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust presents 'Developing a City of Research III', 3rd Annual Research Conference.

Date: Wednesday 15 May 2019

Time: 9am-4pm

Venue: Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel, Grange Park Lane, Willerby, HU10 6EA

Cost: Free of charge, refreshments and lunch provided. Places are limited.

Who should attend: Trust staff, commissioners, GPs, Social Services, Hull York Medical School and other local HEIs, voluntary organisations, local media, other stakeholders.

Why: The year of the City of Culture may be over but we are still ‘Developing a City of Research’ (and beyond). Following the success of our last two conferences we aim to showcase even more local, national and international research our Trust is involved in, the potential for future collaborations and new areas of research, demonstrate the benefits of research for our community and to encourage more health care professionals to offer opportunities for people to become involved in research studies (it doesn’t always mean extra work for staff and is usually a positive experience for service users). We have chosen this month to celebrate research as it is also International Clinical Trials Day, the NIHR ‘I Am Research’ campaign and National Awareness weeks for Mental Health and Dementia.

Confirmed speakers to date include the following and others will be announced very soon:

Prof Rachel Churchill, Coordinating Editor Cochrane Common Mental Health Disorders and Professor of Evidence Synthesis, Centre for Reviews and Dissemination, University of York

Prof Simon Gilbody, Professor of Psychological Medicine and Health Services Research and Director Mental Health and Addiction Research Group, University of York.

Dr Emma Wolverson, Clinical Lecturer, Faculty of Health Sciences University of Hull and Clinical Psychologist (Older People), Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Hannah Armitt, Clinical Psychologist (CAMHS), Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust.

This event is eligible for CPD hours (subject to peer group approval) and attendance certificates will be available on request.

Final conference programme will be available in due course.
