Is your organisation Disability Confident? Is it fully inclusive for staff and customers?

In partnership with North Somerset Council, we want to bust some myths, show you how to become disability confident and create an inclusive organisation.

Over the course of the event we will hear from key people that have encompassed change, overcome barriers and are leaders in their field:

• Dr Paul Phillips CBE, CEO of Weston College
• Jo Walker, Chief Executive of North Somerset Council
• John Turner, CEO of Visit Somerset
• Ben Mager, Weston College learner and Student of the Year 2018.

You will come away knowing:

• The benefits of creating an inclusive and disability confident organisation
• The journey to becoming a wholly inclusive organisation.

You will also receive:

• Inclusive practice ‘essentials’ toolkit
• A motivational model of training to support staff in their transition.

North Somerset Council is one of only two councils in England to be awarded ‘Leader’ status under the Disability Confident Scheme. The scheme, run by the Government’s Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), recognises organisations who are committed to ensuring disabled people and those with long-term health conditions have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.
