Are you wanting to create a built project for LFA2023?

In this workshop LFA Mentor Lucy Grainge (artist-designer and previous LFA event organiser) will share her experience working within communities to discuss and highlight best practice, ethics and innovative approaches. She will share advice on events organising including important aspects to consider around accessibility, advertising your event and reaching out to communities when planning your LFA event. The LFA team will also present on wider LFA built project and past projects, as well as wider LFA involvement. There will be time for a Q&A at the end.

This workshop is for those who have an idea for a built project and want advice on how is best to move forward, as well as those who have already started creating their built project and want to explore how to create a connected programmes of events and activities.

Why Lucy?

For LFA2022, Lucy and architectural designer Beau McCarthy brought their Wiggle Wonderland pavilion to St Giles Square, with support from the LFA and Almacantar. Wiggle Wonderland created a space for explorations around what children and young people want for their future. Working with children from schools across London and submissions from an open call, the pavilion was activated with banners created in response to themes of gender, equality, the built environment and climate activism, alongside a series of family events and workshops with leading artists and design facilitators.

Access

There venue has level access on the ground floor, with a lift to the lower ground floor, where there are accessible toilets.
