A national family and significant other conference for HMPPS Governors and Contracted Prison Directors, their key family leads, and family service provider partners; to support the development and sharing of good practice in this critical area.Guest speakers include, Lord Michael Farmer and HMPPS Executive Director PSP North Alan Scott, HMIP, Family visits are seen as a catalyst to rehabilitation, with evidence showing people in prison who receive family visits are around 40% less likely to reoffend.This conference is a follow on from our successful 2018 families and significant other conference where we will continue to share the latest effective practice and look at the development of local strategies which support and promote family contact. Lord Farmer’s review, published in August 2017, called family relationships “the golden thread” to help reduce reoffending. This ticket is allocated to one named individual.
