WORKSHOP: Developing Project Ideas & Project Management

Join workshop leaders Rachel Dobbs & Hannah Rose for Visual Arts Plymouth’s next Artists Development Workshop focussing on:

  • Project Management
  • Developing Your Project Ideas
  • Preparing Project Budgets
  • Practical Methods for Planning & Managing Projects
  • Setting Clear Aims & Evaluating Your Projects

Target audience:

  • First time project managers for arts or community projects
  • Early career artists who are beginning to develop their own arts or community projects
  • Mid-career artists who may have been involved in arts or community projects but have not managed projects themselves
  • Those with some existing experience of developing or managing arts or community projects who are looking to improve their project development & project management skills

SOME EXPERIENCE NECESSARY - to get the most from this workshop, you will need to have either some initial ideas for arts or community projects you wish to develop, or have an emerging or established arts practice.

 


 

About the workshop leaders:

 

Rachel Dobbs & Hannah Rose have extensive experience project managing, curating & delivering ambitious ACE funded projects (PL:ay 2007, Come to Ours 2011, Picture in the Paper 2015, Jamboree 2018); alongside 14+yrs experience of working as professional artists, creating & managing all aspects of their practice. 

 

Together and individually, they have managed projects of varying scales and complexity with budgets ranging from low/no budget projects (delivered on £100 or less) to large-scale events and community engagement projects (up to £50,000).


Hannah Rose works as Exhibitions Manager at PCA for 10+yrs - delivering 50+ exhibitions, 100+ events & 4+ multi-site/partner projects & public realm commissions. Rachel Dobbs is a freelance artist & educator managing multiple projects, budgets & research outcomes in FE, HE & community settings.
