This 2-day, studio-based masterclass, led by knitwear designer Jennifer Kent from Edition Scotland, is for people in Argyll & Bute interested in developing their personal creativity and refining their own unique design skills. It will bring together like-minded people in a collaborative and supportive environment to share ideas and explore new techniques and ways of working.
During the weekend you will go ‘back to basics’ and through a series of group activities you will experiment with drawing techniques, creating colour palettes and pattern making for design. There will also be time for you to work alone and reflect on your individual interests and ideas within the beautiful surroundings of Cove Park.
You are encouraged to bring along a selection of visual inspiration to help you develop your design ideas throughout the weekend. More information on this will be sent out nearer the time.
You will take away a body of drawing and colour work to inform new design ideas as well as alternative ways of approaching and exploring ideas
The workshop is open to everyone, from those with no artistic experience to those with formal design training. Enthusiasm and an interest in design, whether for textiles, ceramics, jewellery, furniture, or fashion, is required.
Jennifer Kent is a creative knitwear designer combining a strong background in constructed textiles with experience in fashion.
