Devil’s Punchbowl & Hindhead Common hike blends forest calm, wide horizons and a rewarding 20km challenge.

Trail Therapy’s Devil’s Punch Bowl hike is a spectacular 20 km circular through ancient woodland, glowing heathland and some of the best panoramic viewpoints in the Surrey Hills.

Devil’s Punch Bowl – 20km | Sunday, 1st March

📍 Start and End: London Waterloo Station

🕗 Meet: 8:10 AM at Waterloo Station 🕖 Return: approx. 7:45 PM into London Waterloo

💸 Cost: £32 – includes train tickets, guided hike + a Trail Therapy donation to support set up costs and community growth <3

We will meet at Waterloo station at 8:10 AM to catch the 8:30 AM train to Haslemere (around 1h journey). From Haslemere, we follow a circular path returning to the starting point to catch the 6:42 PM train back to Waterloo. As we will travel on a group train ticket, you are committed to stay with the group until the end (group ticket = group return). We’ll sort tickets and logistics, you just turn up and enjoy 😁

Overview

Trade city noise for birdsong on this big Surrey Hills adventure.

We’ll circle the vast natural amphitheatre of the Punch Bowl, wander through peaceful woodland and cross wide open commons painted in purples, greens and gold. There are steady climbs, rewarding descents and big panoramic moments, including Gibbet Hill, the second highest point in Surrey.

Expect varied scenery, strong legs by the end, and that deep reset feeling Trail Therapy hikes are known for.

· High viewpoints – sweeping views across the Weald

· Open heathland – huge skies and colour everywhere

· Woodland stretches – quiet, grounding forest walking

· Packed lunch and snacks (no food stops en route)

· 1.5–2L of water

· Sun protection, hat, windproof/waterproof layers

· Comfortable hiking boots

· Camera, friends, and good vibes
