Description

With Jim McMahon MP, Ed Cox, Edna Robinson, James Palmer and Gill Morris.

Please join DevoConnect for drinks and a lively debate at its Summer Political Soiree where we will ask, “Where next for English Devolution?”

With 21 million people now living in areas with a Metro Mayor, devolution is definitely here to stay. For many, the devolution glass is only half full. In a Post-Brexit world, could good devolution work to connect with those communities and constituencies who feel that Westminster has left them behind?

If devolution is to catalyse innovation in policy, create a new politics regarding engagement, deliver great places and provide leadership in the face of Brexit and Parliamentary paralysis there will need to be another iteration - 3.0.

To lead the debate we are delighted that Jim McMahon MP, Labour’s spokesperson on devolution and cities and Ed Cox, the new Director of Public Services and Communities at the RSA will speak along with Edna Robinson, Chairman of the People's Powerhouse, James Palmer, Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, along with MPs, Peers, commentators and thought leaders across the political spectrum. The event will be chaired by Gill Morris, Chief Executive and founder of DevoConnect.
