An introduction and update on the DCSA purpose and findings from the seven Catchment Feasibility Studies.10.10am: Brendon Hunter- Agri-Environment Advisor, ADAS.A case study presentation from a feasibility study soil mentor on their experiences of undertaking the study in their catchment. Followed by a five minute Q&amp;A.10.30am: Hugh Davey – Devon &amp; Cornwall Land Management -Project Manager, Environment Agency.Learn about the role of regulation and how this integrates with the findings of these studies and how this articulates with forming a business case for funding. Followed by a five minute Q&amp;A.10.55am: Professor Jenny Dungait- Soil Health Expert:.A talk relating to the function of soil carbon in building soil health and some of the challenges faced. Followed by a five minute Q&amp;A.11.20 pm: Summing up with Dr Laurence Couldrick.Register to attend and we will send you the webinar link ahead of the session.About DCSAThe DCSA launched on 3 June, 2019. The aim of the Alliance is to build capacity and capability in soils advice across Devon and Cornwall. Our soils are in a perilous state with more than 40% of soils degraded. Coupled with this, the accuracy, quality and consistency of advice across Devon and Cornwall is insufficient to deal with the scale of the problem. Currently, the public, private and charitable sectors are all trying to address this, but the size of the problem should not be underestimated and there are still considerable flooding, drought and pollution problems across the region.The DCSA is working to support best soils advice practice.
