About this event

Love pubs or local history?

Join us to explore some of Derby's most iconic historic pubs and discover more about our 'Buildings at Risk' (B@R) survey app.

Date: 28th August 2025

Location: Meet outside the Greyhound pub, 75-76 Friar Gate, Derby, DE1 1FN at 3pm

Details:

We will start outside the Greyhound, a restored 18th century pub.

After a brief introduction we will begin the walk, taking in some of Derby’s most historic pubs.

Halfway along the route, we will stop for a pint at Ye Olde Dolphin Inne, before walking along the River Derwent.

We will end the walk at The Brunswick Inn and enjoy a short talk regarding DHBT’s 1982 restoration of this now award winning pub, and its adjoining railway cottages. After all this 'walking and talking', we will finish with a well-earned drink and light refreshments.

Most of the buildings on this route, and in the Derby City area, have already been surveyed by our amazing 'Buildings at Risk' project volunteers. Therefore, our app is not necessary for this walk.

As always, DHBT’s friendly team will be on hand to answer any questions regarding the B@R app, or the next steps for the ongoing 'Buildings at Risk' project.

This event has been made possible thanks to National Lottery players and The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
