Diabetes Update

Only for Sutton Health and Care staff and Primary Care Staff working in Sutton. Please book with your NHS email and complete the supplementary information.


Diabetes Update

By the end of the session participants will have:


· Gained knowledge of the differences between type 1 and type 2 diabetes

· Gained a good understanding of the importance of glycaemic control

· Be aware of complications of poorly managed diabetes, and signs of hyperglycaemia and how to manage this.

· Gained the ability to identify potential causes, signs and symptoms of hypoglycaemia

· Improved knowledge of oral hypoglycaemic agents, injectable therapies and insulin therapy.

· Revision of injection technique, site rotation and lipohypertrophy.

· Gained knowledge on dietary management and its importance in managing blood glucose levels.

· Be aware of how and when to contact/refer to the diabetes service.

Please note:

  • This session is only for staff working in Sutton Health and Care community teams.
  • Pay-and-display parking is available opposite the Health Centre.
  • Hot/cold beverages will not be provided during the session, so please bring your own.
