Description

The Victorian Studies Centre at the University of Leicester will be holding its Annual Public Lecture on Wednesday 20 November 2019. Professor John Bowen, from the University of York, will be speaking on Dickens, ‘Madness’ and Marriage. His talk is based on his research into newly discovered letters which show that Dickens attempted to have his wife, Catherine, put in a mental asylum. The lecture is free and open to all. It will take place at 5pm in Lecture Theatre 1, Ken Edwards Building, University of Leicester. There will be a Q&A and reception afterwards.
