Didcot Wildlife Wander
Join us for a fun and relaxed stroll around Didcot’s green spots! All ages are welcome. You don't have to know anything about nature - just be interested and enjoy being outside, out and about in a little gorup. Doing your own journey stick (whether you're a child or adult) is a fun optional extra. In this relaxed walk we'll learn about folklore and intersting species along the way. The wander is 2hours long but feel free to leave before the end if you need to.
The Route:
We'll be starting at Mowbray Fields Local Nature Reserve, exploring the railway path to take us on a gentle circular walk through East Hagbourne (we will be going past The Fleur De Lys which serves as a loo break). If we have time and if the paths are open, we will visit Millenium wood before arriving back at the start. This route is approximately 2miles (3km) long.
Parking and start:
There is onroad parking along Mowbray road (OX11 8SU) and you can access the start through the gate at the bottom of this road.
What to bring:
Wear comfy shoes you don't mind getting muddy and dress warm for the weather. It's all about enjoying the outdoors, learning about your local wildlife and having a good time together. Feel free to bring water and snacks if you want to, there will be opportunity to top water up at The Fleur De Lys.
Accessibility:
There are no styles or kissing gates, all open path. The paths include walking over grass or dirt tracks with slighty rough terrain and and in some places the path will be muddy. There are a few gentle slopes. This walk is open to visually impared people. If you have any questions or concerns about the route please do ask Rhiannon - her contact details are below:
