This workshop with expert facilitators will provide a legal overview and considerable practical guidance on the complex issues around the conversations required for effective and fair performance management, for managers dealing with poor behaviours and absence while avoiding bullying, harassment and unfair discrimination to work towards positive outcomes.. Jon Taylor from EMW Law llp will facilitate the first part of this interactive workshop giving practical explanations of how organisations can improve their conversations to ensure staff are treated legally, ethically, fairly and compassionately while the organisation carries out necessary performance management for business reasons. Jon will give guidance on legal and good practices, explaining how the issues should be identified, explored, managed and discussed, following legislation and case law. Jon will remind those attending of the learning derived from case law, while explaining how difficult conversations can be made productive.

Amar Naher will present a case study showing how he turned around a manager’s performance in an international private sector organisation. His case study will demonstrate the listening and coaching skills needed for difficult conversations to be legal and effective for staff and their organisations.
