Upcoming Webinars:

Thursday 25th June 4pm UK-time - Six blockers that undermine your accessibility programme, and how ISO 30071‑1 can clear them

Many organisations face the same recurring obstacles that stall accessibility progress, from fragmented leadership buy‑in to capability gaps and unclear processes. In this webinar, we’ll show how the ISO 30071‑1-1 Standard gives you a practical, structured way to diagnose issues, prioritise action and embed accessibility effectively across your organisation. You’ll learn how ISO 30071‑1 takes a complementary angle to WCAG to help you shift from reactive fixes to a confident, measurable, organisation‑wide approach.

We’ll cover:

  • The 6 typical accessibility blockers we see
  • The key elements of ISO 30071-1
  • How to use it as a diagnostic to identify the symptoms and remedies
  • How the Standard provides a framework for leadership alignment, planning, skills building and governance.
  • How benefits from embedding accessibility in processes reduce rework, increase efficiency and improve ROI.
  • Practical examples of how ISO 30071‑1 supports diagnosis, planning, action and tracking to build a stronger, more resilient accessibility programme.

Thursday 23rd July 4pm UK-time - Kiosks Everywhere. Accessibility Nowhere?

Self-service kiosks are part of everyday life.

From buying train tickets and checking in at airports, to ordering food, paying for parking, or using supermarket self-checkouts - kiosks have become the default way many retail services are purchased.

At the moment, most are trailing website and mobile app accessibility by a long way. But under the European Accessibility Act (EAA), kiosks will need to catch-up over the next few years so people with disabilities and those who are older aren’t excluded from purchasing the way everyone else does.

For organisations across transport, retail, hospitality, banking and public services, this raises some very practical questions which we’ll discuss in this webinar:

  • What does the EAA require for kiosks and 'self-service terminals’?
  • What does “accessible” actually mean for a kiosk?
  • How does it differ from the use of accessibility guidelines for touch-based interfaces on mobile devices?
  • Where organisations are today - the common gaps we’re seeing, and the challenges to meet deadlines
  • And how do you make practical progress when the technology, environments and user needs are so varied?

If kiosks are part of your customer or user journey, this is a conversation you’ll need to be part of.

Thursday 27th August 4pm UK-time - Lightning Talks: what we learned in our favourite projects of the last year that can help you

Our consultants at Hassell Inclusion spend their time working closely with organisations to solve real accessibility challenges.

Along the way, they see what works, what doesn’t, and where things get unexpectedly difficult - as well as the moments where things genuinely start to click.

So this August, instead of our usual Q&A with Jonathan, we’re doing something a bit different.

We’ve invited our consultants to deliver short “lightning talks” on transferrable insights from the most interesting pieces of work they’ve been involved in over the last 12 months.

You’ll hear first-hand stories from the field, across different sectors, teams and types of challenges, to inspire solutions where you work.

In this session, you can expect:

  • Real examples of accessibility challenges organisations are facing right now
  • Success stories where organisations have made meaningful progress, and the impact that has achieved
  • Practical insights into what’s helped (and what hasn’t)
  • Honest reflections on trade-offs, blockers and unexpected lessons along the way
  • A broader view of how accessibility is evolving across different contexts

If you’re interested in how accessibility plays out in practice (beyond theory, guidelines or best intentions) this session will give you a useful, real-world perspective.
