Scaleis a new project, designed to support business development and growth.Scalewill run throughout 2024, supporting Swansea-based enterprises entrepreneurs and graduates.Scalewill provide assistance to enterprises wishing to develop new products and services as well as to incorporate new technologies and processes. This will be delivered through a series of business focussed workshops, one-to-one surgery sessions and collaborative research and development (R&D) projects.In addition,Scalewill also work with aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups through a launch pad and accelerator programme, designed to create new sustainable Swansea-based businesses.Scaleis co-funded through the Shared Prosperity Fund, administered by Swansea Council and delivered by the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.EligibilityScale is open to all Swansea based micro, small and medium sized enterprises as well as individuals that want to start a new business. The University of Wales Trinity Saint David has a legal obligation in the administering and monitoring of this funding, in line with audit requirements, to capture data in order to evidence activity has taken place.Organisers of meetings, events and activities are required to record attendance of participants. The data collected will be stored securely by the University for the duration of the project and for a period of ten years after the completion of the project. Upon request this data will be shared with Swansea Council and UK Government for purposes of audit. All parties will at all times comply with Data Protection Legislation.By participating in this activity you are agreeing that your data may be held for audit purposes. The data will also be deleted before that time if a request is made for deletion which is acceptable under GDPR.

When: Wednesday April 17th 2024, 11:00-14:30Where: UWTSD, ATiC Research Centre, Technium 1, King’s Road, SA1 8PH, Swansea, UKCost: FreeOverview: This face-to-face workshop is designed for companies wishing to gain a better understanding of the prototyping workflow, how prototypes are created from digital content and what manufacturing processes are commonly used in the design process.In the first half of the workshop attendees will get a chance to understand the workflow from how 3D design content is created to the preparation of digital design data needed before prototyping. This includes Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) and other prototyping processes such as laser cutting cnc machining etc…In the second half of the workshop there will be a hands-on demo of the 3D Design tools and 3D printing technologies with a chance to have a go at designing and printing an object.Eligibility: To be eligible for this event you need to be a startup, sole trader or business based in Swansea.
