What does it mean to be “connected”? We are more globally connected by technology than ever before, but life in the digital age can be far from ideal. The average person spends more than half of their waking life staring at a screen or interacting with some type of electronic device. The negative psychological, social and cultural impact is real.
What can we do? Through our woodland based training sessions/retreats, we empower individuals and organisations to create more meaningful and balanced lives both online and off, develop real time practical skills, experience bushcraft and woodland living and help to manage the woods and construct new play features for the centre’s young users.
For each place sold we are able to offer one free place in Kilsyth Woodland Centre to one local child
We are also able to offer full day courses on request on an individual basis at £90 per place and 12 places for £469 for a half day session and £918 for a full day. If you are interested in any of these options please contact juid@wildside.scot

Wildside Adventures Ltd is a social enterprise dedicated to practical action with children, the environment and community greenspace. We specialise in outdoor adventure playgrounds, Forest School education and outdoor learning.
We aim to:
- provide training and education in the development of individual capabilities, skills and understanding in Outdoor Learning and Play
- to establish and support the establishment of community enterprises offering adventure play, outdoor learning, local food production/sales to local outlets, scrap store and upcycling facilities and outdoor cooking/catering
- provide an outreach service in Local Authority areas where our services are aligned to the Authority’s service aims
- establish a service to deliver play opportunities and related activities on local outdoor green spaces for children and their families
- establish services to support community involvement in greening vacant and derelict land through woodland planting and the development of play site activity in the wider community
Wildside in Scotland has a trusted and proven track record in providing woodland learning, natural play, project management and landscape design expertise throughout the UK including for PLAYLINK. Expertise also includes 15 years of experience in managing risk in play provision and delivery of training to Health & Safety Officers in practical risk benefit assessment.
