The second in a series of applied research events in Advanced Manufacturing, by the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Institute of Technology.

Digital Engineering (DE) is the application of digital tools and smart technologies to the value chains of business. With rapid technology development, industries move forward to the era of digitalisation, it transforms product design, manufacturing, and in-service operation. Adoption of digitalisation can deliver significant benefit, such as increased performance and efficiency of industrial operations. As part of a series of applied research events in Advanced Manufacturing by the GBSIoT (Greater Birmingham and Solihull Institute of Technology) and supported by the Local Growth Fund (project SURGE), this 2nd DE workshop on Gaining Benefit Through Digitalisation, aims to hear the voice of, and real examples from, industry and academia on the challenges of digitalisation and how it can help industry to gain benefits.
