Description
The launch of Digital Leeds will kick off the series with a discussion of Tech4Good projects in Leeds.
Tech4Good aims to harness technology to improve the lives of others and make the world a better place. This event will have speakers from Tech4Good companies and projects in Leeds explaining what they do, what they offer and what they want.
The event will be held in the excellent Futurelabs, and there will be time for networking after the talks (so from half-7ish), with tea, coffee and beer.

Dr Kellye Coffyn, Founder, Digital Leeds - Welcome and Introduction
Kellye is a nanophysicist with a love for technology and for getting people together to make great things happen.
Steve Wainwright, co-Founder, Futurelabs
Futurelabs is a not-for-profit formed to help provide a focal point for tech start up and scale-up businesses in and around Leeds.
Steve is co-founder of Futurelabs and is a serial entrepreneur who has not only run and developed large companies, but has also taken a startup from kitchen table into 63 countries and eventual sale. Steve is passionate about developing the tech ecosystem in Leeds.
Emma Cheshire, CEO and co-Founder, DotForge
Dotforge is a 3 month accelerator programme for early stage Tech4Good companies in the North of England.
Emma is CEO and co-Founder of Dotforge and co-Founder of Futurelabs. In the past, she has ran a government backed investment programme for Screen Yorkshire and more recently founded Germinate Consultancy; providing fund raising, strategy and business development advice and support. Her talent is is helping disruptive, creative thinkers turn their ideas and insights into viable propositions and ultimately awesome businesses.
Paul Connell, Founder, ODI Leeds
ODI Leeds is the Leeds City Region node for the Open Data Institure, and is chiefly a network and training node that additionally undertakes projects to encourage open innovation with data.
Paul is Founder of ODI Leeds and SmartKlub, and runs the innovation consultancy Halcyon.
Maddie Julian, co-Founder/Director, DigiBete
DigiBete is a video platform and social enterprise created in partnership with the Diabetes Team at Leeds Children's Hospital. DigiBete's videos are designed to help people and families self-manage their Type 1 Diabetes.
Maddie is DigiBete's Co-Founder/Director and parent of a toddler with Type 1 Diabetes. Maddie has over 15 years Commercial Arts and Educational Project experience including being Director of The Capture Lab Ltd.
Graham Mitchell, Executive Director, Ooooby UK
Ooooby is a social business focussed on making sustainable local food fair and easy, everywhere. Our business model is designed to meet the rather large gap that exists between consumer demand for sustainable local food and the ability of the industrial food system to meet it.
Graham is the UK business development lead for Ooooby and Founding Partner of MC3 LLP, a cooperative partnership provide consulting, implementation and support services for the open source CRM platform of choice for the third sector - CiviCRM. Graham is also co-Founder, along with Shaun Fensom from Manchester Digital, of Cooperative Networks, a think-and-do-tank focussing on innovation at the nexus of technology, society and business, underpinned by cooperative values & principles, and takes a keen interest in #platformcoop initiatives like #WeAreTwitter.
Graham is passionate about better, fairer business and using technology to help reduce inequalities and level the paying field.
