The Digital Safety &amp; Citizens (DISC) Programme was developed in 2020 by Faith Associates in partnership with the Mayor of London to support young Muslims safely navigate their online lives and provide them with the knowledge and technical skills to confidently deal with challenges they may face online, allowing them to react positively and build resilience amongst peer groups as well as support their friends and families with safety advice and guidance.
As well as reminding young Muslims of their duty to uphold their faith even when online and not engage in speech or actions which would go against Islamic beliefs (for example, viewing inappropriate content, sharing news without verifying it first, respecting the privacy of others), the DISC Programme focuses on the following key themes:
•	Understanding the importance of having a good media balance
•	Developing skills to ensure privacy and security of personal data
•	Looking out for fake news and verifying information
•	Recognising and dealing with hate speech
Following a successful roll-out of this programme to over 1500 students across 13 Islamic schools in London over the last two years, Faith Associates would like to train a group of educators within the Muslim network in delivering the DISC Programme within their local settings.
