The Digital Transformation event series has been running across the UK since 2018, exploring technology change in financial services.

Welcome to Digital Transformation UK: Containerisation and Mainframe DB2, the latest in our successful series of public meet-ups which we have been hosting since 2018. This event is focussed on DevOps topics that will be of interest to an engineering audience.Starting the evening we have Chris Stewart providing BJSS’s perspective on Containers and 3 opinions on their future. In his lightning talk Chris shares BJSS’s views on containerisation following a deep dive on their usefulness with platform engineers, developers, testers and architects. The answer turned out to be a familiar one, as is often the case, the journey to the answer proved far more valuable.Our second speakers are Dean Bevan, Lead DevOps Engineer and Paul Webster, Mobile Lab Engineering Lead, who discuss their experiences of container deployment in Lloyds Banking Group. Dean and Paul share their views on deployment of containers at the bank from a technical and cultural perspective: what they’ve learnt, mindset and the benefits to the organisation.Finally we will be joined by Andrew Sampson, Mainframe Lead in the multi-award winning DevOps Centre of Excellence at Lloyds Banking Group. Andrew will be talking about Mainframe DB2 deployments using UrbanCode and Jenkins.
