Direct Action Workshop

YFoES is a network of young (16-30) activists and campaigners across Scotland working collectively for environmental and social justice. We aim find creative approaches for engaging young poeple in global and local issues; to create spaces for young people to come together to share ideas, skills and resources; deliver bespoke trauining and support to young campaigners and ensure young people's voices are heard in key decision making spaces.

An adapted direct action workshop for our current context.

**Part of our online youth skillshare, open to those aged 14-30**A introduction to direct action adapted to our current social distancing world! Run by Tripod Training Collective. Direct action is a phrase you hear a lot in the world of activism. Join us to find out what direct action is and what it’s like to take part. We'll cover some core aspects of direct action, then think about how this is affected by our current context.In this workshop we will:1) explore what we think effective direct action looks like2) how do form affinity groups as a basis for DA planning3) what extra considerations around legal risks and accessibility are there in the current situation4) open discussion on what Direct Action could look like within a lockdown and social distancing environmentYou might feel stuck at home at the moment, and although we are limited in what we can do right now, a lot of what we will learn in this workshop will be useful to us when restrictions loosen!________________________________**These events are run by young people, for young people.
